Adobe, Excel, Web, Mac+ Office Automation Meetup |

Like making things happen automatically? Yes, then click here: Automate Daily Office Tasks Meetup in LA

Don’t know, or never had a thought on this subject? Read on.

Automation or programmatic is not the “set-it-and-forget-it” solution most imagine it to be. Yet, it can still be a very useful and powerful method for attaining scale and efficiency in your business. The bright line between using automation as a “pipe-dream” machine and making it your power-performance tool is a proper set of software, thorough planning of systematic processes, and plenty of support from active online communities.

Let’s take a step back and see some examples of things we like to automate:

  • Touch up, resize or create new images via Adobe or other software.
  • Create systems which allow us to blog or post to social media and blogs via SMS.
  • Get feeds of our favorite news sites, question forms, social streams in one Google Doc.
  • Generate and create new reports for our clients every month.
  • Send us notifications when there’s a funny GIF image we like in GIFFY….
  • and SSOOOOOOO much more.

Having said that, can you think of a process you do over and over and over and over and over, which can probably be automated? Yep, pretty sure we all can. The good news is, you don’t have to be a programmer or pay tons of money to create software related to your personal needs. We’re hosting a Meetup on May 5th to share open techniques and software developed by communities of users, in hopes that everyone can benefit from this amazing skill.

During this meetup, we hope we can explore tips, tricks, advantages and disadvantages of Automation. Specific “types” we want to focus on involve these platforms:

• Mac Based – FakeApp, Keyboard Maestro, Automator, Applescript

• Every Device and OS – IFTTT, Infusionsoft, Google Apps Script, VBA.

  • Also, there will be some discussion of advanced Object Scripting using JS, Ruby and more.

So, whether it be for purposes of email marketing, web scraping, social media maintenance, file organization, etc., we feel that every entrepreneur and business owner can greatly benefit from gathering in a like-minded, scale-seeking communities to share ideas. For those newer to the world of Automation, we’ll be sharing a bit of what we know during a brief 15min opening, then we can all break off into groups, online and in person, by topic/OS/understanding etc.

Enabling Automation for Business #Meetup in LA

Have you ever wanted to have a robot complete all of your mundane, boring, menial and outrageously tedious tasks for you?!?!? Yeaaaa???… Me too -_-

Unfortunately, automation is not the “set-it-and-forget-it” solution most imagine it to be. Yet, it can still be a very useful and powerful method for attaining scale and efficiency in your business. The bright line between using automation as a “pipe-dream” machine and making it your power-performance tool is a proper set of software, thorough planning of systematic processes, and plenty of support from active online communities.

But let me take a step back and tell you what I’ve learned to do in the past year, without using paid automation services, so you can have an idea of what I’m talking about:

• Gather info from commonly used web-analyzer tools using client specific variables.

• Download reports from a secure website and email clients monthly updates.

• Make endless scripts to process images/video/files from one form to another.

• Create craigslist posts using info from a spreadsheet.

• Auto collect relevant posts from Twitter, Instagram, and Fb to sort through later.

• etc

During this meetup, I hope we can explore tips, tricks, advantages and disadvantages of Automation. Specific “types” I want to focus on involve these platforms:

• Mac Based – FakeApp, Keyboard Maestro, Automator, Applescript

• Every Device and OS – IFTTT, Infusionsoft, Google Apps Script, VBA.

Whether it be for purposes of email marketing, web scraping, social media maintenance, file organization, etc., I feel like every entrepreneur and business owner can greatly benefit from gathering in a like-minded, scale-seeking communities to share ideas. Who knows, it may even help us “laymen-coders” with dreams of automated efficiency to form another community and save a semblance of sanity in our busy lives.

For those newer than I to the world of Automation, I’ll be sharing a bit of what I know during a brief 15min opening, then we can all break off into groups, online and in person, by topic/OS/understanding etc.

What is content marketing? For the last few years, it has been talked about by businesses and marketers alike, from all industries. Whether you know it or not, you’ve probably even been involved with some form of content marketing in one form or another. At its best, it can be a great way to effectively capture leads and customers, and at worst (most common), it can be a great waste of precious time and resources. During this meetup, we will discuss the concept of content marketing and explore the practice of creating content with purpose. Specifically, we will cover:

1. What are the most valuable forms of content marketing for SME’s and entrepreneurs with limited time for such engagement.

2. How to plan a creative content calendar.

3. Resources and tools for those who would like to automate and/or contract-out affordable content creation. If you have been investing in, or even considering, the creation of content, join us and learn some helpful tips while hearing what has worked for others during their digital marketing efforts.
